Superfine merino has much finer fibres than conventional wool, giving it a softer feel against the skin. Individual sensitivity varies, however, particularly for people with a wool allergy. You’ll find the precise fibre composition on each product page.

Our pure merino styles are knitted from 100% superfine Australian merino wool but we also offer cashmere-merino knitwear.

This depends on the design. Our roll-neck jumpers sit closer to the body for comfortable layering while our other jumpers have a regular or more relaxed shape. Each product page includes the intended fit, model details and garment measurements to help you choose.

Choose your usual size if you want the fit shown on the model. If you prefer additional room or plan to wear the jumper over another layer, compare the garment measurements with a knit you already own before deciding whether to size up.

Merino provides effective warmth without the bulk of a heavier conventional wool knit. Its breathable fibres help you stay comfortable as the temperature changes, making it useful alone in milder weather or layered beneath a jacket or coat in winter.

Yes but you need to choose the right weight. Superfine merino is lightweight, breathable and naturally insulating, making it particularly useful from autumn through spring and on cooler summer evenings. Fine merino styles also layer comfortably in air-conditioned offices or while travelling.

Some light surface pilling can occur where natural fibres encounter friction, particularly beneath the arms or where a bag rubs against the fabric. This does not necessarily indicate poor quality and can usually be managed gently with a wool or cashmere comb.

Firstly, merino does not need washing after every wear. Airing your jumper between wears will help it feel fresh for longer, reducing unnecessary washing and helping to preserve its shape and softness.

When you do need to wash your merino wool then always follow your jumpers care label. Where permitted, wash it in cool water with a wool-safe detergent, avoid wringing or twisting, gently reshape it while damp and dry it flat away from direct heat. We recommend folding merino knitwear. Leaving it on a hanger for long periods can stretch the shoulders and pull the garment out of shape, particularly if it is damp.
