Generally, yes. Finer wool fibres bend more easily against the skin, which helps give superfine Merino its characteristically smooth, soft feel. For context, fine Merino is around 19 microns in diameter, while ours measures just 16.06 microns, placing it firmly in the superfine category.

That said, fibre fineness is only part of what determines how a finished knit feels. The gauge and stitch also play a role, which is why we consider the yarn and construction together to create a light, silky-soft handle.

On cooler summer days and evenings, yes you absolutely can. Superfine Merino is lightweight and naturally breathable so it can be worn on its own when the weather feels a little milder.

We advise to wash superfine Merino by hand in cool water using a liquid detergent made for wool, taking care not to rub individual stains. Reshape while damp and dry flat, away from direct sunlight and heat. If needed, iron on the reverse using a cool setting, and store your Merino knitwear folded flat to help it retain its shape.
