1. How to Wash Your Woolens
You don’t need to wash merino after every wear. Most days a gentle airing will do and away from direct heat. However, when you feel your woolens need freshing up then follow these simple care guidelines:
- Use cool water and a wool-safe detergent.
- If handwashing, don't leave to soak or wring (let gravity do the work).
- If machine washing then select a gentle wool cycle and never use heat or harsh spins.
2. How to Dry Your Woolens
- Don’t hang. Instead, find a flat surface and lay your woollens on a towel, sleeves folded inward.
- Give it time to dry.
- But avoid direct sunlight.
3. How to Store Over the Summer
- Fold your knitwear and place into drawers or shelves where it can rest undisturbed (hanging pulls and warps).
- If you’re storing it for a season then ensure they're cleaned beforehand - moths are attracted to dirt.
- You can also add a touch of cedar or lavender as a quiet guardian.
4. What is Wool Piling and How Can Your Remove It?
Don't worry if you see pilling. It’s just the natural settling of fibres finding their rhythm. A wool comb or de-piller will smooth it out in seconds.
