The fill is 100% certified British wool — not a blend, not a composite with a reassuring name. When we say British wool, we mean it, and we can prove it. Every batch is individually tagged and traced back to source.
Traceability is a commitment. When a material is traceable, the people making it are accountable for it. That discipline tends to show in the product.
Temperature regulation
Wool doesn't just keep you warm. It keeps the temperature right.
Wool fibres have a natural crimp that creates tiny air pockets. Those pockets trap warmth when you're cool, and wick moisture when you're warm. No synthetic fill responds the same way — it either insulates or it doesn't.
Wool is also naturally hypoallergenic and dust mite resistant. Good Housekeeping's testers noted it "regulated temperature nicely." A 7.5 tog wool duvet can feel surprisingly similar to a 10+ tog down — without the overheating.

The outer shell
An organic cotton cover that gives the wool room to work.
The outer shell is 233 thread count organic cotton — grown without pesticides, woven to a standard that complements what's inside it. Soft to the touch. Quiet when you move. Breathable enough not to trap what the wool is trying to release.
Corner loops keep the fill in place inside your duvet cover, preventing the clumping and bunching you get with cheaper construction. It's the part of the duvet your skin touches every night. We thought it deserved the same attention as the fill.

Our duvets are made in Yorkshire — a region with a long, unbroken textile history — by artisans who hand-finish and quality-check each piece before it leaves. Nothing is produced in advance of demand. Your duvet is made after you order it.
That means nothing sits in a warehouse and nothing is wasted. We think it's a better way to make things. The factory does too.
Tog
Just two togs. Both work year-round.
The 4.5 tog (3kg) suits hot sleepers and summer nights. The 7.5 tog (5kg) suits cooler bedrooms and those who like a thicker duvet.
Don't compare tog like for like with down. Wool naturally traps warmth and releases excess heat — so a 7.5 wool tog can feel surprisingly similar to a 10+ tog down duvet, without overheating. Thanks to this, both options work well year-round.

Wool is one of the few natural fibres that responds to your body temperature rather than just insulating against it. The crimp in each fibre creates air pockets that trap warmth when you're cool and wick moisture when you're warm. Many people who switch to wool find they sleep at a more even temperature. For warmer sleepers, the 4.5 tog is the natural starting point.
Wool duvets aren't machine washable. Dry cleaning is recommended when it needs a proper wash — in practice, with a good duvet cover, most people find that's rarely. We'd suggest airing it regularly: hang it outside on a dry day, or near an open window. Spot clean the organic cotton shell as needed. Dry cleaned and cared for properly, it will hold its loft and fill weight for years.
4.5 tog suits spring and summer, or anyone who sleeps warm year-round. 7.5 tog is better for autumn and winter, cooler bedrooms, or anyone who regularly reaches for more in the night. If you're genuinely unsure, think about your bedroom — poorly insulated rooms or older houses tend to need the 7.5.
New wool can carry a faint natural lanolin scent when it first arrives. It's completely normal and disappears within a day or two of airing. Hang it in a well-ventilated room before use — outside on a dry day is ideal. The organic cotton outer acts as a barrier, and most customers don't notice anything at all.
Yes. Wool is naturally hypoallergenic and dust mite resistant. It doesn't provide the warm, moist environment dust mites need to thrive. For allergy sufferers who have always assumed they need synthetic bedding, a wool duvet is often a significant improvement.
