- Will the fitted sheet accommodate the size and depth of my mattress?
-
Our fitted sheets are designed to fit mattresses of various sizes. They are one-size-fits-all and can accommodate mattresses up to 40cm in depth (and as thin as 20cm). They feature a grippy elastic strip that ensures a secure fit to the bottom of the mattress they are placed on.
- What distinguishes Crisp & Cool Organic (400TC) from Soft & Smooth (600TC) sheets?
-
When selecting between Crisp & Cool Organic and Soft & Smooth sheets, the key factors lie in their thread count, weave, and the experience they offer.
Our Crisp & Cool Organic (400TC) bedding is crafted from 100% GOTS-certified organic cotton. It features a one-up/one-down percale weave with a 400-thread count. This weave allows air to effortlessly pass through, providing a cooler touch, making it an excellent choice for those who tend to run warm. Ideal for sensitive skin, the organic cotton is free from harsh chemicals, adhering to environmentally and socially responsible practices. In contrast, our Soft & Smooth (600TC) bedding boast a four-up/one-down sateen weave with a higher 600-thread count, offering a silkier-smooth finish. Slightly weightier, these sheets are designed for cold sleepers or those desiring an extra layer of luxurious warmth. While not as lightweight as Crisp & Cool, Soft & Smooth maintains high breathability and comfort.
For additional guidance and tips, refer to our comprehensive guide on choosing the perfect bedding.
- How should I care for my Crisp & Cool Organic and our Soft & Smooth bed linen?
-
Whether it's our Soft & Smooth or Crisp & Cool Organic cotton bedding, washing every week or two is key to both longevity and an increasingly luxurious feel after each wash.
Separate your cotton sheets from other laundry to avoid catching on rough fabrics, hooks, or zips. Use a small amount of mild detergent, and add fabric softener for extra comfort if desired. Choose a gentle 40℃ or 30℃ cycle to extend the bedding's lifespan, while being kinder to the environment than a 50℃ wash. Tumble dry on low to medium heat and iron on a medium setting. To minimise wrinkles, remove sheets from the dryer 5 minutes before completion and finish with hang drying.
By following these simple steps, your cotton bedding will not only last but maintain its softness and pristine appearance wash after wash.
- Why should I pick European Flax Linen bed linen?
-
The European Flax Linen collection, crafted from 100% European-grown linen, has a soft and tumbled texture. Known for its strength, softness, and remarkable durability, linen offers a lived-in aesthetic and superior breathability. Particularly suitable for warmer months, linen keeps you cool and fresh, yet its temperature-regulating qualities also provide warmth in colder seasons. With a distinctive hand feel, our linen bedding offers a rich colour range and long-lasting softness, making it an excellent choice for those with sensitive skin. Produced in a Portuguese factory with over 75 years of expertise, it meets OEKO-TEX standards, utilising renewable energy and sustainable water practices.
- How should I care for my linen sheets
-
Wash your sheets every 1-2 weeks, striking a balance between cleanliness and preservation. Choose a moderate 40℃ or 30℃ wash to protect the fabric from unnecessary stress. Opt for a low-heat tumble dry, avoiding excessive heat that may compromise the threads, leading to a rough and scratchy feel. Iron your linen on low to medium heat for a smooth finish without sacrificing its natural texture. Skip the fabric conditioner, as it can weaken the natural fibers of the yarn. Remove sheets from the dryer when slightly damp, laying them directly on your bed to finish drying flat and prevent creasing. Alternatively, line dry for a crisper finish.
At Rise & Fall, we don’t believe in using nasty chemicals on our products that affect both the planet and your skin. Therefore, due to the natural characteristics of linen some fibre loss is to be expected in the first few wears. We advise you to wash this product before use to reduce the fibre shedding.
- Can I customise the contents of my bed linen bundle?
-
While we don't offer the option to create a mixed item set within our pre-packaged bed linen bundles, you have the flexibility to customise your collection by ordering each item individually. This allows you to curate a personalised set tailored to your preferences.
It's important to note that we may decline return requests for items that have been separated from these pre-packaged sets.
- What distinguishes Organic Wool from Recycled Down bedding?
-
Organic wool stands out for its natural and beneficial properties, inherently hypoallergenic and creating a sleep environment resistant to mould and dust mites. It has an inherent ability to regulate temperature effectively by wicking away moisture; providing warmth during colder months and a cool sensation in warmer ones. For those preferring a slightly firmer support system, organic wool pillows and duvets form an excellent pairing. This choice not only offers a natural and sustainable option but also achieves a balance between comfort and support. With breathability, moisture-wicking properties and temperature regulation, organic wool proves versatile in varying climates.
Recycled down introduces a unique approach to comfort and conscientious living. Our products undergo a meticulous process, including de-dusting, sterilisation, and cutting-edge washing technologies, ensuring a clean and hygienic sleeping experience. Opting for recycled down aligns with sustainability efforts, repurposing materials for an eco-friendly choice. For those seeking the ideal bedding for a restful night's sleep, if you prefer a lightweight and soft feel, consider choosing both recycled down pillows and duvets. These options offer a plush and comfortable experience, allowing you to sink into a serene sleep environment.
- Which pillow density is good for me?
-
Choosing the right pillow is crucial for a good night's sleep, impacting not only comfort but also overall well-being. The type of pillow best suited for you depends on your preferred sleeping position.
For back sleepers, a thinner, softer pillow is recommended to maintain a natural horizontal line of the spine. Side sleepers benefit from a firmer, thicker pillow, especially if they have wide shoulders, to ensure the spine remains straight. Stomach sleepers are advised to use a relatively flat pillow or none at all to reduce strain on the head and neck. If you're a combination sleeper, opting for a soft, malleable pillow, like real down pillows, allows for movement and shaping to stay comfortable.
- How should I care for my organic wool bedding (pillow, duvet, protector, topper)?
-
Wool, renowned for its natural hypoallergenic and hygienic qualities, possesses resistance to dust mites and microbial accumulation. The infrequent need for washing wool duvets and pillows contributes to the optimal performance and longevity of their fibres.
Instead, aeration proves to be an effective method. In a well-ventilated room, regularly air out your duvet and pillows to allow them to breathe and remove moisture. When the weather permits, hang the duvet outdoors; otherwise, place it over a clothes airer near an open window for a few hours to let the natural antibacterial properties of wool refresh and keep your bedding in excellent condition.
In the event washing becomes necessary, we recommend professional dry cleaning as method of care. Avoid excessive washing, as wool can lose some of its natural oils through frequent cleaning.
- How should I care for my recycled down bedding?
-
Products containing natural down, like duvets and pillows, are delicate and do not require frequent washing due to their natural breathability. When necessary, use a short wash cycle with minimal agitation at a temperature of 30°C-40°C using non-bio detergent. Remove excess water through spinning or a separate spinner. When it comes to drying, we suggest low-heat setting with clean tennis balls or dryer balls to fluff up the down and restore its loft. Make sure there's at least 60% empty space in the dryer for proper re-lofting. Alternatively, consider professional laundering.
Store your bedding in a breathable cotton or linen bag when not in use, avoiding plastic bags to prevent moisture retention. Periodically fluff and shake your bedding to redistribute the filling and maintain its even distribution.

- How should I care for my cashmere products?
-
Since our cashmere is of the highest quality (Grade-A), hand washing is the preferred method for preserving its exquisite softness and integrity.
When washing, use cold water and a mild detergent specifically designed for wool or cashmere. Gently submerge your cashmere item in the water, avoiding any rubbing or twisting. Allow it to soak for about 15 minutes, periodically swirling the water to loosen any dirt. Then, carefully drain the soapy water and refill the basin with cold water to rinse. Gently squeeze out excess water without wringing or twisting the garment.
For drying, lay your cashmere pieces flat on a clean, dry towel, reshaping them to their original form. Ensure they are dried away from direct sunlight or heat sources to prevent any potential damage to the delicate fibres.
When storing, fold your dry cashmere items to prevent tension-related warping. Consider using our anti-month bag to protect them from dust and potential moth damage.
If pilling occurs, address it with a gentle touch using a specialised cashmere comb or your fingers. Our Grade-A cashmere is known for its durability, and with proper care, it will maintain its exquisite feel over time.
For additional guidance and tips, refer to our comprehensive guide on caring for your Grade-A Cashmere.
- How should I care for my merino product?
-
Merino wool is machine washable, making it convenient for your routine. When washing, use a delicate, wool, or hand wash cycle with a temperature of no more than 30°C. It's advisable to turn your Merino wool items inside out to prevent pilling or snagging. For added protection, place them in a mesh laundry bag. Avoid using fabric softeners as they can affect the natural properties of the wool.
When drying, only spin-dry your knitwear on a short or very low spin cycle. Alternatively, lay your Merino wool pieces flat on a towel, reshaping them to their original form. Avoid hanging, as the weight of wet wool can cause stretching. Ensure they are dried away from direct sunlight or heat sources to preserve the integrity of the fibres.
For storage, fold your dry Merino wool items to prevent tension-related warping. Consider using breathable bags or containers to protect them from dust and potential moth damage.
If pilling occurs, gently remove it with a fabric shaver or a light touch. Unlike other materials, Merino wool's natural elasticity allows it to resist wrinkles, making it a low-maintenance option.
