Double Duvet Cover Sets

In the UK, a double duvet set will be made to fit a standard double mattress which measures 135cm wide and 190cm long (4'6” x 6'3”). A double duvet cover is, therefore, made slightly bigger at 200cm x 200cm. This allows it to drape over the edge of the mattress, giving a more polished look when the bed is made. Our UK & EU double fitted sheets will comfortably fit around the corners of a double bed without too much of a stretch and the pillowcases are made for standard sized pillows.

The ideal material depends on personal preference. At Rise & Fall we only use the finest, skin-friendly textiles that are manufactured using environmentally-friendly processes. We believe that extra-long staple cotton and European flax linen are the best options as they’re highly durable, breathable and wonderful to touch. Cotton thread count is an important consideration but, despite what the bedding industry has portrayed over the years, it’s not the most important factor. We recommend going for bed linen that falls between 400 - 600 TC.

Following care instructions are essential for longevity. While our bed linen is designed to get softer with every wash you should put your double cotton bedding set on a 40° cotton cycle. Use a powdered detergent to keep your whites, white and a liquid detergent for your coloured linens.

Meanwhile, our double linen duvet sets should be washed using a mild, liquid detergent on a gentle 40° cycle to prevent shrinkage and preserve the fibers. Tumble dry on a low heat and iron when slightly damp, although this last step isn’t necessary. You can simply enjoy the natural texture.
