Merino doesn’t ask for much, just a little respect. Handle it with care by following our tips and your wool garmebts will repay you, season after season, year after year.

1. How to Wash Your Woolens

You don’t need to wash merino after every wear. Most days a gentle airing will do and away from direct heat. However, when you feel your woolens need freshing up then follow these simple care guidelines:

  • Use cool water and a wool-safe detergent.
  • If handwashing, don't leave to soak or wring (let gravity do the work).
  • If machine washing then select a gentle wool cycle and never use heat or harsh spins.

2. How to Dry Your Woolens

  • Don’t hang. Instead, find a flat surface and lay your woollens on a towel, sleeves folded inward.
  • Give it time to dry.
  • But avoid direct sunlight.

3. How to Store Over the Summer

  • Fold your knitwear and place into drawers or shelves where it can rest undisturbed (hanging pulls and warps).
  • If you’re storing it for a season then ensure they're cleaned beforehand - moths are attracted to dirt.
  • You can also add a touch of cedar or lavender as a quiet guardian.

4. What is Wool Piling and How Can Your Remove It?

Don't worry if you see pilling. It’s just the natural settling of fibres finding their rhythm. A wool comb or de-piller will smooth it out in seconds.
