- 1. Lay the flat sheet over the mattress, ensuring the longer sides hang evenly. The finished edge (if any) goes at the top near the pillows, with extra fabric for folding if desired.
2. Tuck the bottom edge under the mattress, then use “hospital corners” (folding the excess fabric at a 45-degree angle and tucking in, under the mattress) for a snug fit. You can also leave the sides loose for a more relaxed look.
