Naia™ apparel represents a thoughtful choice, blending luxury with sustainability. Like all quality investments, they deserve mindful care to preserve their exceptional quality for years to come. Fortunately, Naia™ does most of the work for you but this guide offers gentle wisdom for maintaining the distinctive drape, softness and integrity of your of your Naia™ clothing. While remarkably resilient, Naia™ responds best to gentle treatment. Its semi-synthetic composition means it behaves differently from both natural and fully synthetic fibers, requiring a balanced approach.

How To Wash Naia™

Washing your Naia™ pieces is similar to washing other luxury fabrics. You should prioritise cool, gentle cycles and avoid mixing colours and using harsh chemicals. Here are our washing recommendations:

  • Preparation: Turn garments inside-out to protect the surface.
  • Detergent choice: Mild, pH-neutral detergents without bleach, brighteners, or harsh enzymes.
  • Water temperature: Cold to lukewarm water (30°C maximum) to preserve fiber integrity.
  • Cycle selection: Choose delicate or gentle cycles.
  • Load consideration: Wash with similar colors and weights, avoiding overcrowding.

How To Dry Naia™

When approached with care there are a couple of ways to dry your Naia™ apparel:

  • Preferred method: Air drying on a padded hanger or laid flat on a towel.
  • Machine drying: If necessary, use lowest heat setting and remove while slightly damp.
  • Avoiding damage: Keep away from direct sunlight or heat sources while drying.
  • Reshaping: Gently smooth and reshape garments while damp.

Iron When Necessary

Its natural drape lends itself seamlessly to natural wrinkle-free drying, making ironing an occasional rather than routine necessity. But, when pressed for time, steam ironing is a suitable choice:

  • Temperature: Low to medium heat (synthetic or silk setting).
  • Steam: Light steam can help release wrinkles without direct heat.
  • Protection: Use a pressing cloth between the iron and fabric.
  • Movement: Iron with gentle, flowing movements rather than pressing heavily.

 Seasonal Storage

We believe our Naia™ garments are year-around pieces. Ideal for dressing up, dressing down and layering - it’s not just its closed-loop processing that makes it sustainable, it’s the way a single piece can carry you through all seasons.

That said, should you need to store any of your pieces, ensure it’s properly cleaned and folded before storing in a breathable garment bag in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area.

For extra care, use acid-free tissue between folded garments and avoid compressing garment bags when storing to keep pieces from being misshapen.

Addressing Specific Naia™ Concerns

1. Stain Management

When life leaves its mark on your Naia™ pieces, try to address the stain as soon as possible. Avoid aggressive rubbing, and instead run the fabric under cool water and blot the stained area, slowly introducing a mild soap.

For persistent or oil-based stains, seek professional dry cleaning. If you have any preferred stain solutions, test a small area first before spraying the whole stain.

2. Pilling Prevention

Naia™ generally resists pilling but there’s steps we can take to maintain its smooth appearance:

  • Minimise friction from rough surfaces
  • Consider your accessories carefully. Jewellery, belts and bags may snag or stress the fabric so be mindful when you’re pulling your final look together.
  • Always wash on a gentle cycle to avoid stressing the fibres. Should any small pills appear, you can use a fabric shaver on its lowest setting to return your garment back to its original silkiness.

Naia™ Care FAQs

We suggest avoiding washing your pieces for as long as possible, as we would any luxury material.

Naia™ naturally resists odor absorption and stays fresh longer than many fabrics. Unless visibly soiled, most pieces can be worn multiple times before washing, which both preserves the garment and reduces environmental impact.

You can also freshen up your Rise & Fall pieces in between washes. Spot clean using a delicate handwash detergent to remove any unwanted marks and use a steamer to extend its wear.

Since Naia™ acetate is a semi-synthetic fibre, it should not shrink when washed. As long as you follow the guidance above and only wash on cool, gentle cycles, then your clothing will have no issues.

We recommend avoiding fabric softeners, which can coat fibres and reduce Naia™'s natural breathability and moisture-wicking properties. The fabric's inherent softness eliminates the need for additives.
