Meet Francesca D’Agostino — owner of Wilton Way Deli & Wine, a neighbourhood spot beloved for its warmth and understated charm. Francesca curates seasonal plates, thoughtful groceries, and a considered selection of wines, all rooted in a love of simple, generous hospitality. Her space brings people together over good food and easy conversation, celebrating the everyday pleasure of eating and drinking well.

How do you describe what you do and what do you love the most about it?

I run a café and wine bar in my neighbourhood. I love the community I created, it makes me feel very proud.

What morning ritual or habit have you developed that sets you up for a better day?

I wake up very early, before 6am. Having my coffee, a stretch and get myself ahead with my admin. It’s my “me” time.

What’s your daily uniform?

Anything comfortable, I live in my Birkenstocks or flats. But I do like to dress up! So I tend to try to use everything in my wardrobe, I feel guilty if I don’t wear everything!

Where are you local to, and what’s your best neighbourhood recommendation?

Our neighbourhood is the best. Wilton Way. We have everything we need, park, tennis courts, gyms, coffee shops, pubs, restaurants

Which modern convenience couldn't you live without, and why?

Dishwasher. I hate dirty glasses and dishes around the sink, everything needs a rinse and straight in the dishwasher.

What is your favourite piece of art, regardless of medium?

Difficult one! So many! I couldn’t pick one now, but it would probably be a book.

What are you currently coveting, reading, watching and listening to?

Watching Slow Horses and The Morning Show. Reading “There Are Rivers in the Sky” from Elif Shafak.

How do you protect your time and attention from the constant demands of modern life?

I’m not a scroller, I can live without my phone. I make time for exercising. But I honestly still struggle to put myself first.

How do you maintain human connection in an increasingly digital world?

I’m very sociable, I need people. That’s why I opened my business. I talk to everyone all the time. I make time for friends and neighbours. I call my best friends often. I never miss a reunion. I like hosting.

What makes your life materially better?

Clothes! I like to wear nice outfits, it makes me feel good and more confident. My style is a reflection of my personality.
