Luxury Flat Sheets & Top Sheets

A flat sheet, also known as a top sheet, is designed to lie between you and the blanket or duvet and it serves multiple purposes. Unlike a bottom sheet, which is fitted and goes directly over the mattress, a flat sheet is not elasticized and can be used more flexibly:

1). providing an extra layer of comfort and cleanliness, helping to keep your blanket or duvet cleaner for longer.

2). A flat sheet will also help protect your duvet cover from dirt, sweat and daily wear, meaning fewer washes and easier bed maintenance.

3). helps with temperature regulation throughout the year:

1. Lay the flat sheet over the mattress, ensuring the longer sides hang evenly. The finished edge (if any) goes at the top near the pillows, with extra fabric for folding if desired.

2. Tuck the bottom edge under the mattress, then use “hospital corners” (folding the excess fabric at a 45-degree angle and tucking in, under the mattress) for a snug fit. You can also leave the sides loose for a more relaxed look.

3. Then add your duvet, comforter, or blanket and you're all set!

You sleep under a flat sheet. The flat sheet, or top sheet, is placed on top of the bottom sheet (which covers the mattress) and beneath any blankets, comforters, or duvets. This means your body lies over the bottom sheet and under the flat sheet, making the flat sheet a comfortable and protective layer between you and your top bedding.
