Autumn Bedding For Cooler Nights

Autumn has a habit of changing its mind. Mild evenings give way to cold nights, often in the space of a week, so good autumn bedding should give you room to adjust.

Choosing Autumn Bed Sheets

The best sheets for autumn are comfortable through changing temperatures. Linen has a relaxed handle and naturally breathable feel that works particularly well when the nights are still mild while cotton feels smooth and soft. Both make an easy foundation for an autumn bed. The difference coming down to how you like your sheets to feel, with warmer layers added as the season moves on.

British wool bedding makes a naturally insulating and breathable layer for cooler nights, while virgin down offers exceptional warmth without unnecessary weight. Then add a bedspread for an extra touch of warmth when you need it.

A Softer Shift in Colour

Making the bedroom feel more autumnal doesn't require an entirely new bed. A deeper-coloured fitted sheet, a warmer-toned duvet cover or a little more texture can be enough to change the mood.

Our autumnal colours include earthy neutrals, softened greens and richer shades, like our mood indigo duvet set.

Add An Autumn Bedspread

A bedspread is an easy way to add warmth without changing the rest of your bedding. Layer one over cotton or linen bed linen for extra weight on cooler nights, then fold it back when you don't need it. Useful, rather than purely decorative.
