The public self wears the heels and holds the bag and says yes to things. The private self kicks the shoes off at the door, puts the cashmere on, and flips through a magazine upside down for no reason.
Rise & Fall makes things for the private self. This film is about the moment the door closes. The exhale. The specific relief of being seen by nobody.
The Japanese call it Tadaima — I am home.
The shoulders drop. The day ends. The real life begins.
